Here are some great old photos of my Grandpa Elisha L. Fisher’s parents and siblings. (Hover to see a description, click for full size.) Note the two handwritten letters to their schoolteacher-son Elisha, one from his dad in 1918, and one from his mom in 1908.

My Great Grandfather John Hezekiah Fisher was the youngest of 11 children born to Jacob Fisher and Juliana Asia Boyd Fisher.  John came into this world on 7 January 1849 in Lawrence County, Indiana.

My Great Grandmother Fannah Inman was a few months younger than John, born in August of 1849 in Indiana. On 25 March 1869, Mr. Fisher and Miss Inman married  in Martin County.

John and Fannah had  11 children. My Grandfather, Elisha Lemuel Fisher, was born on 21 September, 1884 in McCameron Township, Martin County, Indiana. Two sons, George and Henry, died in infancy (and I haven’t been able to discover their birth and death dates). One of the children, Dennis, suffered an accidental death at age 20 in 1898.  The remaining 3 girls and 5 boys grew to adulthood and established families:
– Lucinda Fisher married Elmer Allen
– Phearby Emmaline Fisher married James L. Wadsworth
– Willaby Greenup Fisher married Lilly May Gough
– Sarah (Sally) Talitha Fisher married Noah Everett Waggoner
– Harvey T. Fisher married Marrie Powell
– Elisha Lemuel Fisher married Elizabeth Ann Dillon
– Virgil Fisher married Ora Strole
