These reports (each with a reputable news link) detail some of the many dead and wounded among Iraqi and Afghani military and civilians, as well as Coalition dead and wounded. We are not aware of any source that authoritatively and consistently compiles or counts these kinds of reports. The following news links were compiled by Evan D.

Baghdad:        
#1: Gunmen wearing camouflage uniforms abducted about 50 people, including the head of Iraq's national Olympic committee, while they were holding a meeting in Baghdad on Saturday, police sources said. Details of the mass abduction were sketchy, but police said the incident took place at a major conference center in central Baghdad. Some mass kidnappings reported by police have later turned out to be arrests made by other security departments.        
         
#2: Another ugly day in Baghdad. At least three people are dead and eleven wounded in street battles today between government troops and gunmen. 3 11    
         
Heavy clashes between Iraqi soldiers and gunmen in downtown Baghdad on Saturday left 11 people wounded, police said.        
         
Two people were killed and six arrested when Iraqi troops raided Baghdad's northern Sunni district of Adhamiya, a Defence Ministry spokesman said. Residents reported hearing explosions and machinegun fire overnight. 2      
         
Two people were killed and seven wounded when clashes erupted overnight between gunmen and residents in the predominantly Sunni al-Fadhil area in central Baghdad, Interior Ministry sources said. 2 7    
         
#3: Similar clashes also broke out elsewhere in the capitol, injuring four bystanders. U.S. troops rushed to seal off the area after the attacks, said Iraqi Army Maj. Salman Abdil-Wahid.   4    
         
#4: Seven more were hurt when mortar rounds landed in a neighborhood just blocks from the Green Zone where the U-S Embassy and Iraqi government are located.   7    
         
Seven people were wounded in a mortar attack near Haifa Street in downtown Baghdad, just blocks from the Green Zone which houses U.S. and British embassies and the Iraqi government, 1st. Lt. Muhammad Khayoun said. The wounded were taken to al-Kindi hospital.        
         
#5: Gunmen also attacked a truck loaded with sheep, killing the driver. 1      
         
#6: Gunmen open fire on minivan in southeastern Baghdad, killing five people.  5      
         
#7: Meanwhile, a roadside bomb on Saturday killed a U.S. soldier in Baghdad, the U.S. military said in a statement. "A Multi-National Division - Baghdad service member died at approximately 11:25 a.m. today when the vehicle he was riding in struck a roadside bomb near Sadr City, an area in northeast Baghdad," the statement said.     1  
         
#8: Meanwhile, up to two policemen were badly wounded during a car explosion that occurred targeting a checkpoint of the Iraqi police commandos' forces. A security force in the Interior Ministry said that a booby-trapped vehicle driven by a suicide bomber blew up near Maysaloon square in southeast Baghdad. According to eyewitnesses, several civilian vehicles waiting in line at the checkpoint were damaged and several people were killed and wounded. 2 2    
         
A suicide car bomb exploded near a police checkpoint in eastern Baghdad killing two police commandos and wounding four, police said. 2 4    
         
         
Baqubah:        
#1: unidentified armed men killed three brothers in an eastern village in Baqouba. A security source in the joint coordination center in Diyala told KUNA that three brothers, one of them a soldier, were killed during an armed attack. 3      
         
Gunmen killed three brothers, two of them Iraqi soldiers, 20 km (12 miles) southeast of Baquba, police said.        
         
#2: An Iraqi police officer was also wounded in an armed attack carried out by an unidentified group in southwest Baqouba.   1    
         
         
Kirkuk:        
#1: One person was killed and two wounded when a bomb placed inside a computer exploded inside an Internet cafe in central Kirkuk, police said. 1 2    
         
#2: an Iraqi police source in Irbil said that unidentified armed men opened fire against a vehicle in Kirkuk killing a civilian and wounding a policeman. 1 1    
         
#3: a missile was launched against a Multi-National forces site in southwest Kirkuk and a checkpoint was also attacked by a mortar shell but no casualties have been reported in both incidents.        
         
#4: (W. of) Multi-National forces were attacked in west Kirkuk by unidentified armed men, wounding an Iraqi soldier during an exchange of fire.   1    
         
         
Mosul:        
#1: Up to four people were killed, including three policeman and at least 19 others were wounded Saturday in a car expolision targeting a police patrol in Mosul, northern Iraq, an Iraqi police source said. 4 19    
         
#2: the Iraqi police in Mosul said that a businessman was assassinated today along with his three children and grandchild during an armed attack. 5      
         
         
Ramadi:        
#1: Provincial police in Ramadi on Saturday also confirmed that gunmen had killed a member of the Iraqi Islamic Party. 1

AFGHANISTAN LOCATION / STORY / NEWS LINK AFGHANI DEAD AFGHANI WOUNDED COALITION DEAD COALITION WOUNDED
         
#1: Militants attacked an Afghan army convoy patrolling late Friday in southern Zabul province’s Shinkay district, sparking a gunbattle that killed four Taleban, said local army commander Razzaq Khan. Soldiers detained one Taleban and there were no army casualties. 4      
         
#2: Outside Zabul’s provincial capital early Saturday, a Taleban rocket-propelled grenade attack on a convoy delivering supplies to US-led coalition forces killed one bystander and wounded a truck driver, said police chief Noor Mohammed. Police responded to the attack and fought militants, wounding two who were taken away by other Taleban and capturing one, he said. 1 2    
         
#3: Eight “enemies of Afghanistan,” a term used to describe the Taleban, were also killed by Afghan soldiers Thursday in southern Helmand province’s Sangin district, a Defense Ministry statement said 8      
         
#4: In neighboring Uruzgan province, Afghan and coalition soldiers also killed two male “foreigners” wearing burkas - the body-shrouding veil worn by women - and detained five Taleban in the Dihrawud district Friday, the statement said. The nationalities of the slain foreigners were unclear. 2      
         
#5: Elsewhere in Uruzgan, Afghan and coalition soldiers repelled an attack by 20 insurgents, killing one, the US military said in a statement. Troops arrested five militants with nine kilograms (20 pounds) of opium and hashish and two rocket launchers in northern Afghanistan’s Balkh province 1      
         
#6: Another five insurgents were detained in Paktika to the southeast and one in the western region of Herat, the statement added.        
         
#7: Canadian and other coalition troops are conducting a massive assault operation in southern Afghanistan. The combined ground and air assault began early this morning in the Sangin district of Helmand province, west of Kandahar. Canadian coalition spokesman Major Scott Lundy says 10 Taliban have been killed as the operation continues. 10      
         
#8: Hundreds of British troops have been involved in a major operation to secure a town in southern Afghanistan from the Taliban. An Army spokesman said that nearly 1,000 British soldiers - including some in support roles - were involved in the operation in Sangin. Two British troops were injured but both are expected to make a full recovery. Details of the attack are sketchy, but it is believed that a large number of soldiers from the 3rd Battalion Parachute Regiment were helicoptered into the area before dawn, to take back control of the town from Taliban militants. One of the helicopters came under a rocket propelled grenade attack, and British soldiers fired back one missile and a number of rounds of canon fire in response.       2

#1: The Government is verifying reports that five Indians working for a private company in Iraq have been kidnapped, according to Minister of State for External Affairs E Ahamed.        
         
In shocking news emanating from Iraq, five Indian nationals have gone missing after entering the war-torn nation. Those missing include two persons form Punjab and three from Kerala. The Indians have been missing for over 25 days now and are believed to be employees of the Kuwait Gulf and Link company, which undertakes transport operations in Iraq. The Indians were carrying a consignment of chicken form Kuwait to Iraq.        
         
#2: The U.S. military said initial reports indicated that an Apache attack helicopter that crashed in a dangerous area southwest of Baghdad on Thursday was brought down by hostile fire.
